How a “Virtual in-House” Business Was Nominated For the “Home Based Business” of the Year Award

Some people think that running your entire business from home is a bunch of hype. But the reality is with little training and the proper guidance, regular folks can build a business that not only looks, but also efficiently operates, like a Fortune 500.

ImageWerks’s recent nomination to the 2009 Home Based Business of the Year Award by the Prince William County Regional Chamber of Commerce is a great example of where virtual businesses are heading.

How did they do it? Stacia D. Kelly, ImageWerk’s Media Contact explains it best. “Clients can count on ImageWerks to be with them every step of the way. Partnerships with writers, printers and other quality vendors allow ImageWerks to serve as a “virtual in-house” graphics department, taking customers all the way from the initial brainstorming stage to implementation of the final product. Another value-add is its “Advice without the cost” philosophy. Meeting fees are built into the design estimate, allowing clients to contact ImageWerks as needed, without worrying about a surprise when the bill comes!”

I know firsthand what running a virtual business is. A few years back, my brick-and-mortar was not only crashing me financially but it was destroying me emotionally. Working so many hours a day and being away from my kids for so long, made the whole business ownership experience excruciating.

It was not until I realized and learned the endless possibilities technology offers, that I decided to act. It took me seven years to learn and put all the pieces together. I am proud to say, that after 16 years in business, and 7 years of learning and implementing, I now operate my company 100% virtually.

So you know, I DO WORK FROM HOME…or from any place I’m at the moment; doctor’s appointment, my kid’s MMA training, Starbucks, my backyard and yes, sometimes my office.

If you want to find out how I did it (and how YOU can do it too…obviously without the painful learning curve since I already figured it out), then just enter your email address in the form below for instant access to the “How to Build a Virtual Home Based Business” training video…

Jackie, we are honored that the chamber selected us this year as the Home Based Business! I think our secret to working at home is to “not stay home”. We communicate, we network, we email, we tweet & facebook. We also have partners with other businesses that compliment each other & help our clients. Our networks know know who we are & in addition we also stay on top of the trends for design & communications. Actually – I really don’t think my husband & I would have it any other way.
